Principal’s Message

Our first Mind in the Making book club met in the BA Library last Monday night. Fifteen of us began discussing Ellen Galinsky’s “Seven Essential Life Skills Every Child Needs” to grow into healthy, productive adults. Not surprisingly, much of the conversation was based on participants’ own child-rearing insight, as parents shared challenges and successes they are experiencing with their children.

We’re told the groundhog’s skittish behavior last week indicated six more weeks of winter. Winter or spring, we certainly need more rain! Eventually it will come, which will mean more drivers at drop off and pick up time.

California’s New Child Passenger Safety Law effective January 1, 2012
We will all be following the new California law that states the following:

“Children under the age of 8, or under 4 feet 9 inches in height must be secured in a car seat or booster seat. Additionally, children under age 8 must be secured in the back seat.”
